ROTORUA BOY SCOUTS
The weekly parade of the Rotorua Boy Scouts troop was held at their headquarters on Friday last, when 51 boys paraded under Scoutmaster T. C. Hawkins, assisted by TroopLeaders J. Alexander and P. Bennett The 2nd class revised tests were finalised and the troop will now go on to first class tests, which it is hoped will be concluded by Christmas Three new boys, who have passed the Tenderfoot test were sworn in The troop roll now stands at 51. The troop is fortunate in having secured the services of one of 'ts old boys, Percy Bennett, who has beer. connected with scouting in Gisborne and has joined up and will be a great assistance. Scouts are warned ic procure staves before next Friday. Patrol-leaders' staves must be 6ft long and Scouts' 5ft 6in and marked in feet and inches. Through the courtesy of Mr. A. Steele, a number of boys spent the week-end out at his farrn, when much useful work was done in fire-fighting, scout pace, tracking and judging *he ght, length and distance as required for the tests. The following local orders have been issued for the week ending November 20: On Duty: Troop-leader J. 'Alexander; Patrol on Duty, "Penguin"; Next for Duty, "Beaver." A church parade will be held on Sunday, November 22nd.
