Rec. Oct. 23, 8.25 p.m. SYDNEY, Friday. Three ships sailed to-day with their usual complements. The Ulimaroa got away for New Zealand, the Talune for Hobart, and Corrimal for Brisbane. The steam'er Manunda arrived at Sydney from Adelaide to-day. The seamen appeared to make no secret of ' their antagonism- towards the strike. This vessel is due to sail tomorrow with passengers and cargo. The Trades and Labour Council has called a conference of affiliated nnions for next Thursday to consider the strike position. The Monowai is due from New Zealand to-morrow. She is not expected to become involved as the crew are on New Zealand articles. The Victorian seamen have decided to man all the Tasmanian ships. They deferred action in conneetion with the general strike issue until Tuesday. Mr. A. Turley, Federal president of the Waterside Workers' Federation, announced that the Victorian waterside workers will not be drawn into the strike. They will work on the ships, even if volunteer erews are employed. Mr. Turley characterised the strike as ridiculous and has advised the men in other ports to carry on. The crews of the following four vessels at Newcastle, the Ulooloo, Mildura, Maeumba, and Mernoo, ceased work this afternoon. noon. '
