The ducks, which are partially tamed by being fed by the public are unused to being interfered with and did not fly away but kept fluttering from side to side of the p.ond. Advertising Hoardings. The Rotorua Borough Couneil last evening received a letter from the Town Clerk, Whangarei seeking information as to the council's practice with regard to advertising hoard- ! mg, and enquiring inter alia what ! would be the council's attitude towards a movement for complete prohibition of advertising hoardings in boroughs. The General Committee i was instructed to deal with the mat- i ter.

Dangerous Corner. Instructions have been glven by the Rotorua Borough Council for the installation of a silent policeman in the middle of the intersection of Ranolf Street and Malfroy Road, and also that this corner should he kept under observation in order to prevent speeding and disregard of the provisions of the by-laws. Councillors, at last evening's meeting of the council, stressed the dangerous natui e of this corner and one member expressed the opinion that a definite speed limit should be established in Ranolf Street to prevent cars speeding to and from the motor camp.

Advertising Excursion. The^ Publicity and Amusements Committee of the Rotorua Borough Council has authorised advertising on the picture screens of three Auckland theatres prior to the special Lahour day week-end excursion to Rotorua to be run by the Labour Department. Permission has also been granted a firm of amusement entertainers to occupy portion of the Town Square during Carnival Week.
