SYDNEY, Wednesday. The State Premier, Mr. J. T. Lang, J was bombarded with questions in the j Legislative Assembly as to whether j the Government intended to earmark the State Lottery profits for hospitals as originally promised. He was reminded that five lotteries had already been drawn, which yielded about £9,000 profits, not one penny of which had yet been made availablo to the hospitals, which urgently require help. Mr. Lang merely replied that the Government would help the hospitals as they had ahvays done. A number of critics have now discovered that there is no, provision whatever in the Lotteries Act. specifying that the profits are to go to the hospitals. A lively controversy is proceeding in this connection.
