ENTHUSIASTIC MEETING FORMS FURTHER BRANCH AT REPOROA

REPOROA, Thursday. There will he'a revival of Farmers' Union activities in Reporoa following a very representative and ~ enthusiastic meeting of fartnec*s which was held there during the week. j After an interesting address by Mr. D. B. Higgins, president of the j Matamata branch of the Union, and j i an appeal from Mr. T. F. Jolly, dis- j trict area officer, for Union support, j a branch of the Union was formed in | the district and the following offi- i cers were appointed: — President, Mr. j A. J. Gillanders; vice-president, Mr. ( W. G. Butcher; committee, Messrs. ! Meikle, Seccombe, Lewis, Browne, j Thorne, Fries, and Forrest. A number of matters affeeting the j I district in particular and the farm- j ing industry in general were discussed, Messrs. Jolly and Higgins answering a number of questions which were brought forward. An arrangement was made for Mr. Dalgleish of the Department of Agriculture, to deliver an address at a future date upon ensilage. Votes of thanks to Messrs. Jolly and Higgins concluded one of the most enthusiastic meetings held in the district for some time.
