I ALBION CLUB'S ANNUAL | MEETING The annual general meeting of the Albion cricket club was held in the Rotorua Furnishing Co.'s premises last evening. The President, Mr J. H. Higgins presided over a satisfactory attendance of members and intending members. | The annual report reviewing last season's operations, which was read by the secretary, showed that the I strength of the club from a numer- | ical point of view was unsatlsfactory and to this was attributed the poor showing made in the Cricket Association's competition. The policy of the club in register'ng numevous prospective players was also referred to as a contributory cause of the small deblt balance shown in the balance sheet, amount- . ing to 5/6. This was, however, more than offset by outstanding subscriptions. The election of officers xesulted: — Patron, Arclideacon F. W. Chatterton; president, Mr. J. H. Higgins; vice-presidents, Messrs, G. H. French, A. De Luen, E. G. Guy, F. Newmarc'h; hon. secretary and treasurer, Mr. J. C. Hinton; hon. auditor, Mr. j F. Newmarch; management commit- | tee, Messrs. F. Lenihan, J. T. Burton, R. G. Webb, J. J. Lewis, -W. Penno and the president and secretary; delegates to Rotorua Cricket Assoeiation, Messrs. Lewis, Burton and Hinton, captain and vice-captain. It was decided that these officers be elected prior to the first match. Selectian committee, the captain, vice-
captain and Mr. J. Hinton; custodian of gear, Mr. J. H. Higgins. j The following new members were elected, Messrs. J. Archer, J. Morrison, L. H. Gresham, F. Tregilgas, and Kerr. After considerable discussion as to what the expenses for the current season were likely to amount to, it was decided that the subscriptions as levied last season (viz. 15/- for seniors and 7/6 for juniors) be again adhered to. j The club's delegates to the annual general meeting of the Rotorua Cricket Association were instructed to oppose any reduction in the amount of affiliation and registration fees. The question of a practice match to be held on the Satur(Jay prior to the opening* of the season was left in the hands of the secretary to be arranged.
