Mr Ramsay MacDonald, questioned in the House of Commons regarding the armaments truce, said until the details were known the Government could not pronounce an opinion on the suggestion. Certain delegations had put forward a resolution at the assembly asking the Governments to abstain, pending the Disarmament Conference, from increasing the present level of armaments. The British Government was keeping in close touch with its representatives at Geneva with regard to this matter. Captain Eden (Under Secretary for Foreign Affairs) said the Government of the United Kingdom was definitely opposed to any postponement of the date of the .world disarmament conference.
