LADIES HOCKEY TEAM Interviewed on his return from Auckland yesterday with the members of ^the Rotorua Ladies' Hockey Tournament team, the manager (Mr C. Casey) stated that in the majority of their games the team had played really well.as evideneed by the fact that,. in the actual tournament "play, they had won two matches, drawn two and lost one, the other loss being a replay against Poverty Bay to decide the challenger for the Holden Cup. Although Rotorua had the game well in hand,' he said, a slight slackening up towards the end of the match, due to fatigue, put them out of the eompetitioh. The refereeing throughout the tournament was," with one or two exceptions, all that could be wished for, as also were the grounds and arrangements. Mr Casey was very enthusiastic over the conduct of the team, every individual member being a credit to their tow'n and association, which he. stated made his position as manager very easy and the tour an enjoyable one for all.
