poverty bay defeats rotorua ✓ SECTION FINAL

AUCKLAND, Friday. Rotorua lost to Poverty Bay by two goals to one in the Section final. The scorer for Rotorua was G. Rogers. Both teams started very tired.as a resuit of six days' play. Rotorua made the play most of the first half, but missed L. Tanner, their full b^ck, who was resting a slight leg injury received yesterday. Numerous penalty corners in favour of Rotorua were not taken advantage of. Play was more even in the second spell though offside by both sides often spoilt the play. A sudden dashing attack by Poverty Bay enabled them to score a speculative shot by M. Nichol. Rotorua v/as now tired and Poverty Bay, playing better and pressing frequently, scored a further goal short ly; afterwards. Though pressing hard, Rotorua could not even the scores.
