WEDDING
A very pretty wedding was solemnised last Tuesday afternoon at StMark's Church, Remuera, when Mona, only daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Joseph Banks, of Rotorua, was married to Geoffrey William, second son of Mrs. R. Foote and the late Mr. R. Foote, of Whangarei. The bride, who was given away by her father, wore a charming, ankle length gown of ivory satin and embroidered net. Her veil, embroidered to match the gown, was held in place by sprays of orange blossom, which alone formed the simple head dress, and she carried a fragrant bouquet of white carnations, freesias, lilies and maidenhair fernThe ceremony was performed by the Rev. G. C. Cruiclcshank- Little Miss Pamela Davenport made a dainty flower-girl in a daffodil tinted frilled georgette frock and poke bonnet to match. The bridesmaids were Miss E. Kitchener and Miss M. Foote, who wore similar ankle-length georgette frocks 'of forget-me-not blue and shell pink respectively, with pastelshaded f elt picture hats to tone. They carried shower bouquets of sweet peas and carnations. The best man was Mr. I. Foote, and Mr. R- Dunn acted as groomsmanThe reception was held at the Domain Kiosk, where over 80 relatives and friends of the happy couple had gathered. Mrs. J. Banks, who received the guests, wore a wine-coloured satin beaute ensemble with hat to tone and carried a bouquet of violets and rimulas. Mrs. R. Foote, mother of the bridegroom, wore a smart black and white silk ensemble with black bankok hat.
