WILL FALLING OFF,, CONTINUE. WELLINGTON, This Day. The question whether imports are likely to incrcase later in the financial year will very probably be ra sed with tbe Comptioller of Customs (Dr. oraig) during the "nter-party committee proceedings. There appears to be some differance of opinion as ti whether importers will renew their stocks. Quest'ioned to-day regarding, the prospects of the estimated Customs revenue being realised, the Prime Miister, the Rt. Hon. G. W., Forbes, said that as had already been announced, tbare had been a drop in the first three nunths' figures. There was, however, 'no reason to fear that the failing off would cont'nue. It was felt that, as stocks must be getting ldw, there would have to be an increase in imports shirtly. It is stated tbat Reform members of the committee disagree with the Prime MinistCr on this po'nt, the opinion being held that importers are not able to afford the replenishing jf their stccks under exist ng'circum " stances. It is pointed out that A.A. tralia's experience bad confirmed/ 4 view. ' , , P
