FASHION HINTS
Oriental inspiration is seen in the small turban in straw or fabric, in the hood collars, in lingerie, and the capucine effect seen at the. back of some of the coats. . Belts and wide swathes round the hips are other details. The former are double and often triple, repeating the colours in the frock. Curious little sweaters in coloured wooden beads are being worn with afternoon frocks, and the same beads are used for some little evening Wraps which are shorter even than a bolero jacket, but which have large wide sleeve effects. ^ An enormous cuff (or is it a muff?) is worn on one arm with some of the evening gowns, they match in material, and are often made of leaf-like pieces. Large pockets are seen on some frocks; the jumper and skirt reappear in a new guise. Printed muslin is seen, and a combination of muslin and taffetas makes some pretty models. Most of the morning and sports dresses have a fitting line, with a slightly flared skirt. Woollen jersey, pique, and a double cottonette are used for some attractive blouses. A few of the new season's coats are plain little crepe affairs with a double-breasted effect, and they are to he worn over printed frocks. This is very practical, since, as the coat is not lined, it can be worn with several different frocks.
