LONDON, Sunday. The representative of the Austraiian Wool Couneil, Mr. Devereux, repoits on the market as follows: — "Under the influence of the holidays, and also the effect of the general economic position now under sonsiderat'on of the Br.'t'sh Cabinet, the markets in most centres are quiet. There is a general desire to mark time, pending developments. There have been a few private sale transactions at Bradford in wools for export 'o America. The saies of tops to Germany during the fortnlght have been small and prices have slightly jased, but this is ahvays the quietest month of the year, and in view of the present financial etrir.geney m that eountry nothing else could he expected. "In Francc the financial restrictions have caused some trouble. Conibers are very busy, but the prices of tops are somewhat eas.er. Sp.nners are well employed on old contracts, but new business is scarce. "The maikets at Antwerp and Roubaix display weakness uncier pres?ure to sell malniy on French account, and prices have shown a further decline."
