WAITING ON MR HUGHES. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph —Copyright. Sydney, August 31. The country is anxiously awaiting some indication of Mr Hughes’ intentions regarding conscription. An enormous crowd attended a public reception at the Town Hall, expecting reference to the subject. Mr Hughes guardedly avoided the subject. but in the course of a speech said; I believe that wherever the light leads us now, every free citizen will follow, na matter what comes or goes.
