SANDON BLOCK NOTES.
From Our Own Correspondent. Sandon Bloch, in common with other parts of the district, has been visited by' stormy weather. The severe gale we had did no damage of any consequence. Last Sunday afternoon rain set in and continued to pour down steadily for 24 hours. The ground is wetter just now than it has been for some years. Stock is wintering splendidly and lambing is proceeding satisfactorily. Several settlers have a number of cows in and dairying season will soon be in full swing, A few suppliers on the Waipnru Road intend Bending their cream to the P.ata factory this season. Inspector Strong paid his annual inspection visit to the school a week ago and his report is very satisfactory. Mr J. Stephenson, of Poep-o’-Day, has purchased Mr Dean’s farm at Maugaonoho and will reside there shortly. A very severe form' of influenza is still prevalent in the district and a number of children have been attacked with gastric influenza.
