From Martou Fire Brigade, account for £i for two men employed on night of fire.—Passed for payment. From Health Department, condemning an unoccupied house in Wiflis Street. —Referred to Works Committee. From G. M. Davenport, application for gas to be installed to his now residence. Granted, cost of connection to be borne by applicant. The Gas Manager reported teat the receipts for the month of April were £227 12s 6d against £167 14s expend itureor a profit of £SO 18s 6d. During the month 5 services were laid and 3 meters fixed. Notice of motion was given fey the Mayor to rescind a resolution passed by Council refusing to instal gas to applicants outside the borough and that in future each application be treated on its merits. Payments amounting to £366 10s 7d paid during the month were approved and accounts and salaries amounting to £3lB 11s 8d were passed for payment.
