BOYS IN HOTELS.

Per Press Association Napier, May 11

Robert James Howard was charged at Napier to-day with permitting gambling on licensed premises by allowing cards to be played for drinks. The Magistrate said the evidence as presented by the police was'too inconclusive and he did not feel justified in entering a conviction. His Worship concluded “Cards have been played in this hotel and played for money by a boy of 15 years of age. In my opinion this has been established. I canjonly say that a licensee who harbors boys of 15 vears around his hotel is not fit to t;hold a license. With these remarks I dismiss the information.”
