James A. Crooks has been remanded on a charge of bigamy to appear at Dannevirke on the 19th. It is alleged that accused was first married at Norsewood, where he deserted his wife some eight or nine years ago. Inquiries were coutinu- - ally instigated for him and he was at length located at Waimangaroa,, near Qranity, on the West Coas,'#-* where he was found living with, a second wife, who, it is alleged,, he marrie.d some four or five years ago.
