Per Press Association. Dunedin, May 7. At Dunedin Police Court Amy Book was charged with having made a false declaration to the Registrar of Marriages at Romahapa, with having obtained £4l from Miss [Henderson byf means of false pretences, and with having obtained £lO from B. S. Irwin, by means of false pretences. Accused pleaded guilty and was committed to the Supreme Court for sentence. She said it was no use expressing regret as she would not be believed. She wished to thank the Press for remembering, notwithstanding what she had done, that she is a woman.
