RANGIWAHIA.
From Our Own Correspondent,
The annual meeting of Rangiwahia branch of the New Zealand Farmers’ Union was held in Mr Ringwood’s rooms on Tuesday last, about 20 members being present. The balance-sheet showed that after paying all expenses for the year there was £8 10s in hand. The following officers were electedMr Oharles Mclntyre, president, in place of Mr D. H. Guthrie, who resigned. This was a very popular appointment, the proposition being, carried unanimously. Mr A. W. O’Dwyer was appointed secretary in place of Mr George Ker, who resigned, and who was accorded a hearty vote of thanks for his services for past year. A strong committee was then selected, representing the various outlying districts. The President was chosen to represent this branch as delegate "to Provincial Council shortly to be held in Feilding and at the close of the meeting he announced himself a candidate for the vacancy on the Land Board, propounding his views in a most able manner. At the sale on Tuesday there was a large yarding of lambs. •, Bidding was very slow. A few pens changed hands, prices ranging from 2s 9d to 6s 5d per- head. Mr W. McKean, with a party of ladies, ascended the mountain on Monday last. The view obtained was excellent. Messrs Q. Kraiger and G. Brown of this town have been touring the north, and at present are doing the baths at Botorna. We trust they will soon return all the better for their well-earned rest.
