LONDON WOOL SALES.

MARKET HOPEFUL BUT UNCERTAIN. Per Press Association Weilintgon, February 9. A cablegram from the High Commissioner dated London, February Bth says:--“The wool sales closed firm with good demand for all descriptions, but except for lots suitable for America, which are higher, the opening gain on medium and coarse qualities is lost. Values generally are now about the same as at December sales. America purchased freely and the market is uncertain but hopeful. Estimated values are as follows: Superior merino to Is medium 9d to lid, inferior to fine crossbreds of all grades lid to Is medium to lid, coarse 61 to 9d.”
