TENNIS.

MARTON v. OHAKEA-TAONUI. A friendly match was played on the Marten Gourt on Saturday. The weather was ideal and Marton Club were successful in winning by 14 sets to 4. The visitors won one set in the ladies’ singles, ladles’ doubles, combined doublesand men’s doubles. At the conclusion of the day’s play Mr A. Campbell on behalf of the visitors thanked tin local players tor the enjoyable afternoon spent, and the ladies for having provided afternoon tea. Ho also hoped that later on they would have a return match with the Marton Club at Taonni. MARTON TOURNAMENT. The Club tournament has been considerably delayed through the recent open tournament, but games, have now commenced in earnest and the committee hope the remaining matches will be got off as soon as possible. The results, so far, ;are—: MEN’S HANDICAP SINGLES. (First Round.) Willis beat Outfield, 60—26; Broad beat Fulton, 60—43; Broderick beat Cos 60—45; Marshall beat Hammond, 60—43,* E. Broad beat Collins, 63-60. Bristow, Cameron, A. M. Williams, Dawson, Morgan, Simpson, Russell and Young won by default. (Second Round). Ross beat Bristow, 60—56,; W. Broad beat Williams, 60-40; Marshall beat Broderick, 60—54; Dawson beat E. Broad, 60—48; Allison beat Norton, 60—43. MEN’S DOUBLES. I First Round). Dawson and Allison beat Fulton and Willis; B.
