FEILDING COURT.

Before Mr A. D. Thomson,. S. M. Alex. Watson proceeded against U. J. D. Skinner, Feilding Borough ponndkeeper, for an overcharge of poundage fees in respect to two ponies impounded in March last. Mr Prior appeard for the defend--ant. The plaintiff, who conducted his own case, stated that the poundkeeper description of his (the plaintiff’s) ponies in his possession, and then failed to notify him forthwith as directed by the Act; also* . the poundkeper had charged for two days’ sustenance, whereas the animals had only been given sustenance for one day, though in the pound two parts of days, but not 24 hours altogether. His Worship held that the ponndkeeper had made a' legal charge and had not been negligent in the matter. The day ended at 12 midnight; therefore, the poundkeeper was entitled to charge for the parts of days as whole ones. The" case was dismissed., W. A. Williams v. Fred Noffke; claim lßs 6d. The plaintiff was nonsuited. Ham v. Ham. Thjs was a claim for increase in maintenance. The wife has been receiving £ljper week, but now having another child, asked for an increase of 7s 6d per week. The defendant stated he was only earning about 80s per week. The order Was not varied. R. Quedly v: W. Wisehnowsky claim £5 3s 3d, judgment summons. Amount to be paid forthwith or in? default 5 days’ imprisonment., Nicholas Onwegan, W. H. Bed?r wood and Percy Redwood werev charged with breaches of the Beer Duty Act, the former for taking? away beer in a receptacle unstamped, and the two latter for selling it to him. Onwegan stated that he had pulled out the cork shortly after receiving the jar in order to get a drink and then saw a paper' fall to the ground. The other defendants stated that a stamp had been affixed. The case was dismissed.
