ITALY AND WOOL IMPORTS.
A CURIOUS POSITION
United Press Association. —By Elec trie Telegraph.—Copyright. Received June 5, 8.20 a.m. Loudon, June 4. On behalf of exporters, Mr Tavener, Agent-General for Victoria, conferred with the Italian Minister of Agriculture and explained that wool was not allowed to laud in Naples if not accompanied by the unreasonable certificate demanded by the Consul-General in Australia, hut it could be carried to Loudon thence shipped to Naples and then lauded on a declaration that the wool bad not come in contact with anything contagions He urged that the Con-sul-General should be instructed to accept the Australian Government Inspector’s certificate that rhe wool originated where no contagious disease existed.
The Minister admitted that the situation was as described, and said that it seemed very strange. He promised that unless there special reasons it would certainly he remedied.
