BRIDEGROOM WHO VANISHED.
KISSED- HIS A:ND RODE London, April 17. The story of the marring of a marriage by the disappearance of the bridegroom comes from Wickham Bishops, an Esses village not far from Maldon. William Saunders, a young carpenter, and Sate Everett, a housemaid at Hill House, had been engaged for about four years, aud'their wedding day had been fixed for last Saturday. They were looked upon as an ideally happy couple, and they had spout* the greater part of the week before the wedding in papering,! painting, and furnishing the cottage which was to be their home. On the Wednesday morning Saunders rose’early, got his own breakfast, and to ok a cup of tea up to his sweetheart, who was staying withhis parent;*. He kissed her cm both cheeks, said “ Good-hye, Kitty, ” ran downstairs, jumped on his bicycle, and rode off In the direction of London. Since then nothing has been seen or heard of him. The* marriage day passed' without a wedding, the guests dispersed, and the disappointed bride went to her own house disconsolate. When Saunders vanished lie wore bis wedding garments, and it is said that he took with him all that remained of his savings after furnishing the cottage. His “mother says that for two or three days before he disappeared he was not quite his usual self, and seemed to“have sometiling on his mind.
