WOOL SALES. CLOSE OF MAY AUCTIONS. United Press Association—By Electric Telegraph -Copyright. London, May 30. Wool catalogued to date totals 154,500 hales. Of this qaantitygthere have heen sold for home use 86,000 bales, for the Continent 51,000 hales, and for America 6000 hales, 13,000 hales were held over. Compared with March, superior greasy merinos were from par to a halfpenny higher, good par to a halfpenny lower, medium a halfpenny lower, scoured par to a halfpenny lower, fine greasy crossbreds par to a halfpenny lower, medium coarse halfpenny to a penny higher, scoured par to a halfpenny lower. FELIDING MARKET REPORT. Messrs A. H. Atkinson & Co., "Ltd., report: —At onr usual sale on Friday we offered to a good attendance of bu'yers a full yarding of pigs'of good quality. A fair entry of poultry of average quality sold ;at late rates. A large consignment of produce mot with ready demand. Quotations: —Horses 5-year old pony £5 ss. Pigs : Small weaners 3s 3d to 2s 6d, good weaners 4s 9d, ss, os 6d, 6s d, slips 9s 6d, 10s, 11s, 12s, stores 14s, 15s 6,16 s 6d, 17s, 18s, 189 s, 21s, 38s, porkers 33s 6d, 33s 345. Cows: In low condition 80s to 355. Poultry ; Hens 9cl, Is Is Bd to Is sd; roosters Is sd, 2s, 2s 3d ; ducks 2s to 2s Id, Buff Orpington 3s 2d, all at each. Produce : Potatoes 95,3105, 13s per sack, Swedes 3s 6d to 4s 6d per sack, onions sack lots Id to l}4d per lb, marrows Id per lb. STOCK REPORT. Messrs Dalgety & Oc. ."Ltd., report on their Feilding sale of the 29th mst. as follows; —We had a very fair yarding of sheep and a medium entry of cattle, practically the whole of which wo quitted at satisfactory prices as below: —Empty ewes 5s 6d to 6s, aged cull ewes 2s lOd, forward ewes 18s 9d, small mixed lambs 5s 7d, forward lambs Bs, to 8s Bd, forward woolly lambs 10s P.d, fat and forward wetiiers 14s, empty cows 38s, steers £8 Bs, 2*4 to B--year steers £3 18s, fat and forward heifers £3 11s, fat cows £4 15s, 3 to good conditioned bullocks £5“ 13s. Messrs Freeman R. Jackson & Co., Ltd., reportAt our Wanganui sale on the 27th nit. we yarded 320 head of cattle. 3600 sheep, and 120 pigs. The cattle yarded were of good quality, and bidding was brisk, resulting in practically all |lines being quitted under the hammer. The sheep penned consisted principally of wethers, for which there was good inquiry. Pigs sold at advanced rates. We quote :—Prime fat heifers £6 2s, fat cows £3 17s to £4 ss, steers £4 Is 16d, to 3-yeaf steers £3 19s, 3 to steers £3 to £3 6s, 18-month steers £2 10s, 18-month to 2-year heifers good|39s to £2, yearling heifers 255, forward cows £2 4s to £2 12s, forward empty heifers £2 7s fid to £3 18s, store cows 30s to 355, vealers 20s to 22s 6d, weaners 12s 6d. Sheep: Pat 2-tooth wethers 14s Bd, forward 4 and 6-tooth wethers good 14s 6d to 14s, others 13s, 13s 6d, 13s lOd, and 14s, good iambs 7s lOd, others 5s 3d, cull do Is 7d to 4s lid, store ewes 7s. Pigs: Choppers £3 14s to £3 9s. baconers £3 to £2 9s, best porkers 36s to £3, medium do 27s 6d to 32s 6d, light 18s to 23s 6d, good stores 13s to 14s 6d,“weaners 3s 9d to 4s. WOOL AND SKINS. Messrs Dalgety &> Co. report having held their usnal monthly sale of wool, skins and hides on the 29th inst., when a good catalogue was offered to a large attendance of buyers. ’ Wool ana skins sold at last sale rates.
