At Addington market to-day there was a fairly large entry of all classes of stock, and the attendance was good. Store sheep were a little easier, and fat lambs were firmer. Fat sheep showed a decline in prices owing to a large yarding . Beef was in over supply, but pdces showed no change. Fat pigs were not in very keeen demand, but stores sold well. Dairy cows sold well at advanced rates, and there was a dull -sale for store cattle. The store sheep pens were filled with another large entry, bat the quality of the stock was not equal to tnat of last week, and the demand was consequently less keen. Good forward wethers maintained their values, but backward sorts were more difficult to sell at easier rates. There was only a small number of breeding ewes in and those with good sound mouths sold at late prices. A line of twotooth ewes from the North Island formed part of the entry. There was a fairlv large entry of fat lambs and the bulk were of fair to prime quality. The sale started at nine o'clock and all the lambs were in except a few lines belonging to owners who were not aware of the change, the new arrangement enabling export buyers to get their lambs killed next day instead of having to wait till Friday, encouraged them to hid. freely, and prices for prime lambs advanced about 6d per head. Tegs made 16s 7d, ordinaly freezing weights IBs to 16s, aud light and unfinished lls to 12s 6d. An average yarding of fat calves met with the customary demand, prices ranging from 4s 6d to £2 13s, according to age and condition. Very few young stock came forward aud the sale was a dragging one for all classes. Two and 2^-year steers made £2 14s to £3 14a, aud dry cows 10s to £2 10s other sorts selling at last week’s rates. There was a fairly large entry of dairy cows a considerable number being of rather better quailty than at recent sales. For the host kinds there was a brisk demand and prices from £4 to £lO 2s 6d.
