THE BLACKBALL STRIKE.

A message received from Wellington to-day stated it is understood that a conference will be held in Christchurch to-morrow between Messrs Pritchard and Webb (representing the Blackball miners) and representatives of the Blacbkall Company, with a view to settling the troubles at the mine. Seen in regard to the above tele-, gram Mr A. A. McKo’llar (agent for the Blackball Company) stated that on Tuesday week last the secretary of the Union telegraphed, asking if the (company would receive a deputation from the Union. The company consented to do so, and it was decided to (hold the conference on Tuesday last. Owing to',tho holiday festivities in connection |wit!i the Otira tunnel, however, the conference was postponed till tomorrow. Any arrangements made by the deputation will bo.submitted to a foil meeting of the Union.
