Referring to the cable of March 6th that Lord Milner had refused a large sum of money left hy President Kruger, General Botha now explains that President Kruger handed the money to the late Government when he quitted the Transvaal and it was expended by various Commanders.
General Botha'offered Lord Milner a statement of the expenditure not the money itself.
