TAIHAPE.

The man Harrabee, who last week was sent to Wellington for sentence on the charge of incest, was brought back to Taihape as the accused’s plea of “guilty” bad not been entered on the information. The prisoner the same Bench (Messrs J. P. Aldridge and T. E. Wilson) on Tuesday morning. The evidence was read over to him to which he pleaded guilty. The plea was endorsed on the information. and the prisoner returned to Wellington to receive his sentence. This is probably the first case that has been so dealt with. The omission was a very slight one, and escaped the notice of the clerk and the justices. A man named Thos. Kerr, known as “Scottie” was also sent to Wanganui for seven days for drunkenHess. Matters municipal are engaging the attention of the ratepayers, the election of Mayor being the chief topic of conversation. We have two candidates in the field—the sitting Mayor, Mr *A.
