SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
Per Press Association. Wanganui, February 17. The contestants for the sculling championship are still actively training. Bain and Ford, Tressider’s trainer and pacemaker, express themselves as still being very hopeful that their man will be the champion of the world next week. Dick himself looks bright and well and is in wonderful good condition for a man of his age. Several Australians who saw Webb row yesterday express astonishment at the improvement the New Zealander has made since he rowed in Australia. They declare that his style is altogether different from that shown by him in the match against Towns and conforms much more to the ideas of Australian authorities than it did in Sydney.
