THE SCULLING CHAMPIONSHIP.
Per Press Association. Wanganui. Febrimry 10. Interest in the sculling championship between Webb and Tressirier which takes place to-morrow fortnight is daily growing and the training operations watched by large crowds. Both mqp ha.vo been doing a lot of solid work and are very fit. Supporters of both men are confident, though the New Zealander finds most favour. The final deposit of £2OO each is due next Saturday aud a cable has been!"received stating that Tressider’s has been posted. Webb left -to-day for Kaiwbaike, eight miles up the river, where the race is to be rowed. Tressider fo 1 - low§ to-day or to-morrow and both men finish training on the championship course. Complete arrangements have been made for conveying up the river the large crowd expected. Neilsou, a noted sculler and boat builder, is coming over from Austraila and there is some talk of getting up a sweepstake handicap a few days after the championship.
