ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per Press Association. Invercargill, Dec. 4. The police are advised that Thomas James Reynolds died at the Riverton Hospital to day from the effects of a wound on his head received while working at Wreyshush on Tuesday. Reynolds was binding a loop in the wire rope of a hauling engine, when the engine surged, and the rope tightened, causing au iron bar to fly round and hit Reynolds on the temple. Dunedin, Dec. 5. Henry Lawson Johnson, who lived at St. Clair, died this morning apparently as the result of a slight wound on the top of his head inflicted by a corkscrew, on November 35. Deceased who had a corkscrew in his hand, stooped under the table to pick up something. When ho rose ho was bleeding pr fnsely' from a wound on the head. A pad was made and the flow of blood stopped, but every time the pad was taken off the bleeding commenced afresh. Deceased took ill early this morning and when the doctor arrived was dead. Deceased was well known in racing circles a few years ago.
