A SHEEP DEAL.
Per Press Association. Timarn, Dec. 5. Au important case has been decided hero in connection with a sheep deal. H. Woodley sued Campbell Bros., of Geraldine, for £SOO damages for failing to look after 3.000 lambs sold by defendants to plaintiff for forward delivery. The sals was made last year just before the drought. The defendants claimed to have done all that possibly could bo done to keep the lambs in condition. Prices fell and as Woodley failed to take delivery at the specified time, Campbell Bros, re-sold the lambs at his risk, successfully claiming oil him to make up the difference (£1057) between prices realised at this sale and what Woodley had agreed to pay. Woodley now claimed £SOO on the ground that Campbell Bros, failed to comply with the terms of the sale agreement. The rase was heard before Mr Justice Haseldeu and a jury, who gave a verdict for defendants.
