A PROGRESSIVE FIRM.
Messrs Daigety and Co. ’s new sale yards at Eastbrook, Wanganui, were opened yesterday, when a large and successful stock sale was hold. About 1300 head of cattle and 3000 sheep were penned. There was a large and representative attendance oi|f armers, and the bulk of the stock was sold at satisfactory prices. Prior to the commencement of the sale, Mr Baggett, the firm’s local manager, said—“We have considered it necessary in the interests of our clients, and for the successful working of our business, to establish sale yards hero. We now hold stork auction sales in most of the important centres in New Zealand, and our yards are always run in the interests of the farming community, so that farmers may always entrust their stock to us with entire confidence. On behalf of the firm, I desire to thank you heartily for the splendid entry you have given us today, and I trust that as long as we conduct our business as we are doing at present, wo will continue to merit a share of your support. I will uow leave you iu the hands of our auctioneer, Mr Morshead, and I hope you will assist him iu his duties by bidding up promptly for any stock you may require. ’ ’ The yards are very substantially built, are up to date in the matter of appointments, and very conveniently worked. A large luncheon room and office has also been erected at the yards. Sales will be held by Dalgety and 00., Ltd., fortnightly,from now on.
