ALIDA LOMAN.

To-morrow evening at tho Opera House will mark tho first appearance in Marton of Madame Alida Loman, the fmaons lyric soprano. Madame Lomau in her tour of the Dominion has everywhere been received with tho greatest enthusiasm. A clipping from an Auckland exchange says : “Few singers have tho natural gifts or the personality that enables them to engage their hearers from every point of view. A lovely voice is frequently coupled with an unsympathetic temperament. But this cannot he said of Madame Loman. Sho has not only tho voiec that roaches tho heart, but she has the soul behind it. It is an exquisite delight to hear her sing. Her voice is one of velvety softness, pure, rich, and hell-like in tone. Not a note in ail the compass sho commands but is dulcet sweet. Madame comes to us with this delightful voice of hers still in its prime. Messrs Eric Anderson, basso, George Poore flautist, and Bonno Scherek, will support Madame Lomau. The box plans can be seen at Mogridgo’s and tickets for tho unreserved seats can also bo obtained. The “Lipp” piano used at the recital is supplied by the Dresden Piano Company, Wellnigtou. Positively only tho one recital can he given in Marton. ,
