POLAR PRIVATIONS.
Another Expedition to the North PoleCaptain Scott was one of tho first and most intrepid Polar explorers to venture on that hazardous and very trying attempt to penetrate what lias been considered an impassable barrier of ice surrounding the South Polo. Since his time there have been numberless futile attempts to penetrate tho mystic silence that I surrounds the secret precincts of the j magnetic centres on which cur. i planet makes its revolutions. Such adventurers have, at considerable risk, been attempting these hitherto vain desires, and all to what purpose? To add to the lustre and glory of 'their various countries. The consummation of tins great achievement can‘only lead to the discovery that on the much sought for Pole is displayed a lingo placard “with this strange device” (not Excelsior), urging them to immediately retrace their steps anil wait upon Messrs Brice, Broad and Co. or Frank R. Dunne and secure laud in the Henderson estate, now known as Martou Extension, where the risk and expense is infinitesimal compared with the peregrinations and privations through which an Arctic explorer lias to pass. The prophetic advice displayed with unerring certainty on the advertisements attached to both Poles only demonstrates too surely that a section in the Henderson estate is the finest investment ever offered to a landless pubite.
