BULLS SCHOOL COMMITTEE.

A mooting of tho above was held on Monday night. Present: Messrs Downes (chair), Hinckley, Holmes, Kearney, King, McGregor, and Wearue (secretary). It was resolved that a holiday bo given, as customary, for tho People’s Day of tho Palmerston Show. That the matter of repairs to clock, iron blown down, replacing post, and of glass_ broken, be left.ii? the hands of the incoming Visiting Committee. That the assistance given by monitors during the illness of Mr Mcllardie and at other times be rocoganised. It was further resolved that exemptions seemingly in force with two pupils bo rescinded unless further doctors’ certificates ho sent to Committee. The Visiting Committee’s report was satisfactory, and Messrs Hinckley and Wearue were appointed for tho ensuing mouth. 'The Chairman read his letter to the Education Board, forwarding about 40 names of intending pupils, and requesting early opening of tho High School. No reply had at present been received. Tho matter of raising subscriptions was discussed, and Messrs King and Downes were appointed to draw up circular to forward to subscribers and others on tho matter. That subscription lists he forwarded to the chairman of the various school committees with a request that they would use their influence iu obtaining subscriptions. At the meeting of the Technical School Committee the report of tho Director was road, stating that the dual desks sent wore very much injured iu transit. That, the English and Arithmetic terms would he completed this week, and that half of the term of tho dressmaking and millinery classes had yet to run. It was resolved that the Director have tho injured desks repaired. The meeting was adjourned till last Monday iu November, unless special meetings ho required to he called by the Chairman.
