At the Magistrate’s Court to-day Stephen Duggan alias O Brien was fined £5 and costs, or in the alternative one month’s imprisonment for obtaining money under false pretences. The evidence by tradespeople showed that accused had canvassed and secured money for advertisements on a concert programme, they being led to believe that the proceeds were for the benefit of a blind girl.
