ALCOHOLIC CASES.

Government Proposals. Press Association, Auckland, October 8. At a meeting of the Hospital Board a letter was read from the In-spector-General of Hospitals, stating that Government was prepared to erect, at the cxjioause of the Dominion, in the larger centres, suitable wards for the treatment of delirium tremens, and stick alcoholic cases as required immediate care aud treatment. That until the wards were erected the Board should, considering the urgency of the matter, make such temporary arrangements as were necessary, in which event Government would undertake to pay the full cost of the maintenance of patients. ' Dr. Valiutiue added that he would be glad if the Board would give the matter immediate attention. The letter w'as referred to the Hospital committee to confer with the staff and report.
