LAND BOARD.

The following business, in addition to that already reported, was transacted by the Land Board; — Titles were granted to Messrs T. O’Sullivan, (section 27, block 8, Hautapn). Permission was granted to Mr G. Crosbie to convert his tenure of section GO, block 8, Mangahao, into lease-in-perpetuity. A similar application by Mr W. McAlister, with regard to section 2, block 6, Kaitieke, was hold over.

It was decided to obtain from t.i)» Clown Lauds Ranger in connection with the application oi Mr W. P. Ellis for permission to. sublet part fof section' 3, block 8, Miikatnku, to Mr K, R. Goldfinch. Permission was also granted to Mr D. Fraser to sublet section 6, block 1, Maugahao, to Mr E. Cook for two years, subject to the amendment of clauses (5 aud 8 of the sublease.

The timber export called the attention of the Board to the fact that persons were squatting on section 57, Ohaknne township extension No. 3 It was decided to notify such persons, through the police, that they must quit the land. It was resolved to call for public tenders for the sale of unsold sections in block 3, Pohaugina township. The Rangatana Timber Company was granted permission to build a dam op the stream in section 8, block 5, Karioi, aud to take water therefrom a distance of fifteen chains to the mill.
