ALLEGED WHOLESALE ROBBERY.

This morning detectives arrested a young married man named W. F. llarlington, employed as assistant at the Mutual Stores, on. a charge of stealing a large and miscellaneous quantity of goods supposed to be valued at over ',£loo. Tiie detective office presented the appearance of a drapery shop this afternoon when detectives were engaged for some hours sorting out drapery material alleged to have been stolen. The articles consist of almost everything in the drapery line. Detectives had to engage an express to cart *ho stuff away. When charged with the offence accused said the articles had been purchased at sales iu town and that some of them had been brought from Christchurch where he was formerly living.
