ACCIDENTS AND FATALITIES.
Per P> ess Association'! DtTNEDIN, AwgUSt 13. rotor Cilot, wharf laborer, died suddenly at Port Chalmers to-day. He was helping to coal the Miovera and shortly bofore'lo a.m. came out of the hold of tlw hulk complaining of pains m his chest and not feeling well Going on board the steamer he rested on a seat, thinking that after a little ho would be all right. A few minutes afterwards ho gavo a lev, rasps and dropped over on his sido. 1A Bcrrie pronounced life to bo extinct Death was attributed to failure cf the heart. Deceased was 03 years of age. _ William Trott, who was seriously injured as the result of an explosion ot benzine in a workshop in .the railway yard, died in tho hospital this morning. At tho inquest) this afternoon the theory put forward by experts was that tilt benzine had been poured oil hyo ashes in tho stove, thus causing an explosion, liio iurv returned a verdict to the c-uect that death was duo to shock caused by soveio burns sustained in an explosion ot ueuzino, but that there was no ovidence to show how the oxolosion had been causea.
