ROTORUA RAILWAY ACCIDENT.
I (Press Association.) | Kotoki'a, August 13. i The inquest on the recent railway aceiI dent'was resumed to-day. The evidence of I Cooper (driver of the second engine), Dwyer (assistant guard) who was injured, and Tyor (porter) was taken. No new facts were elicited. All tho witnesses declare that the Westinghouso brakes were on when tho train left Putaruru. The evidence of Dwyer and Tver was taken at the ward in the Sanatorium as theso men are as yet unable to leave that institution. The Court adjourned at 0 o'clock until 7. . The ovidence of the stationmastcr at I utaruru is now being taken after which the inquest will be adjourned until to-morrow. Prior to the inquest being resumed to-day a representative of tho Vvcstinghonse Brake Company gave a practical demonstration o the efficiency of the brake in the station yard. Tho coroner and jury were present It tho demonstration which took place at 'J o'clock before the departure of the express 1 and was considered highly satisfactory.
