Wool, Skin, and Hides.
Messrs Abraham and Williams, Ltd., report on their Palmerston sale held on Friday as followsWe offered a catalogue of 30 bales of wool and a fair quantity of skins, tallow, etc., There was a good muster of buyers. Our offering of wool consitsed chiefly of medium crutohings, which owing to recent advices from Home rece led in value. Competition for skins was very animated, and prices obtained were in accord with late full rates. Hides were very dull of sale, and receded fully yd in value. Tallow sold at good prices. We quote : —Wool: Medium crossbred 7%d, dead 7%d pieces 4yd, fair medium crutchings 6hpl, medium crutohings syd to 6d. Skins: Fine crossbred 83-kd, y woolled crossbred 7%d, y wools dead &yd to 7d, shorn lambs 7 yd, butchers’ half dry and green 6s 4d to Cs Gd, to 7s 4d, lambs 6s 3d, shorn lambs 5s 4d. Hides: Heavy ox 731 b to 841 b 5d to 6%d, light 0x.4%d, medium cows 4%d to 4%d, light cows sJkd, cows, damaged, 4J£d to calves 5%d to G%d. Tallow, in tins 32s 6d, rongli fat 20s 3d per cwt.
