Grand National Scratchings. Press Association. CHinsTouußcn, July 18. Assaver was scratched for all engagements at the Grand National meeting at 11.45 p.m. to-day. Wellington Steeplechase Meeting By “Turf.”

The first day’s racing of the above meeting is sot down for batnrday and will bo con tinned on the following 'Wednesday and Saturday. The popular double machine will bo in operation each day of the meeting, the combination to-morrow being the Parliamentary Handicap and Winter Hurdles, on the wecoml day the Wellington Steeplechase and Waterloo Handicap, and ou the concluding day the July Steeplechase and Winter Oats Handicap. The events have filled extremely well, and the last meeting of the 190(1-1907 season should eclipse all previous efforts. Anticipations Stewards’ Handicap, six furlongs : St. Bill or Chicane. _ Miramar Hack Handicap, seven furlongs; Warlock or Compass. First Hack Hurdles, 1% miles; Golden Comb or Stayboy. Parliamentary Handicap, one mile ; Chatterer or Kuku. Winter Hurdles, two miles: Pros--1 peotor or Pushful. Trial Plate, six furlougs : Wallasey or Blue River. To Aro Scurry, five furlongs; Toa Tula or Martyrinm.

Rangitikei Hunt Point-to-Point Steeplechases.

The above popular gathering of the hunting, fraternity will take place this year at “View Halloa,” the residence of the Master ot the (Hunt, Mr. D. G. Riddiford. It is an ideal spot for testing the jumping capabilities of hunters, aud some interesting contests should bo witnessed. The competitors will moot at Marton at 12 noon, and then proceed to the trvstiug place, the first race, the Heavy Weights, starting at I. Light Weights at 2 p.m., Members’ Kaco at 2.30, aud Farmers at 3 p.m. The trophy tor the •Heavy Weights will be given by Mr A. Cameron, the trophy for tbo Members’ Race being given by the President, Mr J. G. Wilson, Mr E. J. Wildo will provide the trophy for the Light Weights, whilst the Master will present a trophy for the Farmers’ Race. Anticipations:— HEAVY WEIGHTS. Mr H. Gaisford’s Columbine 1 Mr N. D.
