CONCILIATION BOARD.
The Timber Workers' Dispute. Per Press Association. WEi.i.rMdTON, June 1, The Conciliation Board has filed its recommendations in the timber workera' dispute. The recommendations affect some three hundred employers, whose places of business extend over nearly half the North Island. The meat noticeable feature of the recommendations is the proposed increase of wages to unskilled workers. The minimum wage under the current award is 7s per day. The Board recommends increase to M 8s per week or Is per hour outside the city of Wellington, and that "45 hours shall constitute a week's work.
