WEDDING

HUNT—MARAS. A pretty wedding took place at St. Stephens,* Marton, yesterday, when Mr Charles Hunt, second sou ot Air F. Hunt, Marton, was married to Miss L. Alaras, of Marton, third daughter of Air Andrew Alaras, River Bank, Wanganui. The Yen. Archdeacon Towgood, 8.A., conducted the ceremony, which was witnessed by a largo number of friends and guests. The bride, who was given away by Mr William Ward, wore a white Ohim-tnuyg silk dress, trimmed with silk all-over lace with ruchings of true lovers’ knots and orange blossoms, and carried a lovely shower bouquet. The bridesmaids were Miss Hunt and Aliss Dora Hunt, sisters of the bridegroom, who wore cream silk dresses, trimmed with guipure lace, chiffon, and insertion, and black velvet hats with black ostrich plumes, and Aliss Dolly Bull, cousin of bridegroom, who wore a cream silk dress trimmed with Valenciennes lace and insertion, aild cream velvet hat. The bridesmaids carried choice shower bouquets, the gifts of Air F. Hunt, who also presented the bride’s bouquet. The bridegrooms’ gift to the bride was a massive carved side-board, and to the bridesmaids gold brooches, set with diamonds and sapphires.The bride’s gift to the bridegroom was a handsome travelling nig. Air William T. Williams, of Fcildmg, acted as best man, and Mr S. Hunt, brother of the bridegroom, was groomsman. A reception was held at Air F Hunt’s residence, and in a very happy speech the Yen. Archdeacon , Towgood, BA., proposed the health of the “Bride and Bridegroom,” and other toasts w T ero duly honored. A great number of wedding, gifts wore received. Air and Airs Hunt left by the evening train for Palmerstoi ‘en route to Napier, where the honeymoon will bo spent. Tiie bride’s going away dress was a wine-coloured cloth, long basqued coat, trimmed with silk velvet to match, with facings of cream silk, ornamented with French knots; vest of all-over lace and black French sailor , hat, wini long black plumes.
