FEILDING FLOWER SHOW.

The autumn show of the Feildiug Horticultural Society was held iu the Drill Hall yesterday. The exliihits were more numerous than j previously, but still too fesv to till all the space in the hall,, Messrs Hooper, Just and Woightman, nurserymen, making exhibits in flowers and pot plants also. There was a nice lot of Marigolds, dahlias, fuchsias, and a pretty collection of verbenas put iu by Mrs Barton, but the show of pot plants was superior to that of cut flowers. A specimen of aspidistra was particularly good. The collection of fuchsias was much admired. Mrs Cobbe's maidenbairferu and foliage begonias were very fine. The tables were decorated with good taste, and iu the children’s section much care had been given to make a pretty display. The show of tiuit was good, especially that of apples, the varieties most noticeable being Prince Bismarck, a summer cooker, the Alfristi, another cooker, and Kibstones, as good as could bo seen auvwhero. The cle.« A rt apples, as a whole, were worth inspection. Some largo cookers weighed up to Hoy, each. There were several good varieties of pears, the larger measuring quite BJoin, iu length. The hist collection of fruit was irom the garden of Mr Evans, there being no less than 18 varieties, and each one excellent. Mr Mayo exhibited several nice varieties, and his peaches were particularly good There was an excellent exhibition ot tomatoes aud pumpkins, and a fairly coed one of unions and cabbages, but there was a poor show of potatoes, aud the collection of vegetables was much below show standard. The Feildiug Technical School made a nice exhibit ot; wood carving, repousse work, drawing aud painting. The work shown evidenced careful instruction and aptitude ou the part of .the pupils, and the display proved most interesting to visitors. The school will hold an exhibition of its own m a short time. There was a good attendance, of the public, especially during the evening, when musical items wexe rendered.
