Offing to the impossibility of securing a suitable cite for a Technical University, it has now been deoiled to erect a Public Monument in Wellington to the memory of the late Right R. J. Seddon. The monument is intended to to a National Memorial, and it is hoped that the- inhabitants of Martoa and its neighbourhood will heartily support the movement. Subscriptions in any sums from one shilling upwards will be fdadly received aad duly acknowledged. His Worship iho Mayor of Marton has kindly consented to allow contributions to bo received at the offices of the Council, where subscription lists have been deposited, J. E. PAGE, Secretary.
